What would you do if you were the manager?

November 13th, 2009 | by admin |

A former manager of mine DESPERATELY wants me back working for him, and I want to work with him again as well. Long story short, I was fired a few months ago just because the head manager didn’t like me for whatever reason, while the other manager (who is currently wanting me back) loves me to death because I never needed to be asked to do work in the shop (as opposed to just sitting around, waiting for business to happen like so many othe remployees do). However, there are two other employees there who I only just learned really despise me, and I can’t even tell why. One of them threatened to quit on the spot if I was re-hired, and apparently finding more employees is a tricky task for this place.

What would you do if you were the manager? Would you bring me on to do the bang up job I used to do and let this other employee go, or would you keep him on and leave me to fend for myself?
I’m not the one with the grudge. I thought I was perfectly cool with these other two employees. <:S

And the head-manager who fired me is out of the picture (she was getting too many complaints from the customers), so the manager who loves me is suddenly clammoring to get me back. :P
First of all who is this employee to be making such demands on this boss? He is trying to control the boss and that doesn’t bode well in my book. If I was the employer I would hire you back, if the others leave well that is their problem. One hard worker is worth several workers who wait around to get busy!

One good employee is worth it !!!! You are the worker not the other lazy one - seems like a no brainer to me.

If the non working employee quits - what is the manager losing??

Well I think its up to the head manager to decide anyhow. I would look for another job and look towards the future-and forget your grudges!

I will never re- employ an employee that has been fired once, whether I think he/she is the best employee. To much baggage and NEVER worth it. (Unless ALL the staff were fired and you selecetively re-employ)
