November 10th, 2009 | by admin |I have just begun learning Visual studio 2005 since i’ve no programming back ground so can u prefer me a book or something? I am learning it in a institute. but i think they are teaching me just basics because i’ve searched through forums n all but everything there was strange for me
It’s a 6 months course of .net in which they r teaching VB.NEt , SQL and ASP.NET.
Is it possible to learn these in this short period? i mean to be a professional
To be real professional - no.
To start with - yes.

Learning your first programming language is always the hardest, however there are a few things you can do to make it easier.
Firstly remember to do small steps, you cannot just install VS2005 and then expect to instantly be able to program a full working professional program straight away. Start with simple "hello world" type programs.
Generally just find a need you have and try to fix it, Google will be one of your best friends as well as MSDN (esp. the online one.)
If you have a friend who also likes to program, start a competition where you both try to program the same thing, see how each of you did it, and its quite likely you will learn a lot from this.
As already stated learning your first language takes time, you need to find the ‘limitations’ and how to get around those, however after you succeed at that each future language becomes constantly easier as all your doing is learning the new syntax. Its all the concepts that are the hard part.

Yes you can learn it that time.
Don’t worry about the forums. There are two reasons why you may be having trouble with them:
1) As a begginner - just getting used to it all, it may take a bit for you to get in the same mindset as the people who post on forums
2) A lot of internet posters make little sense when posting. It’s not that your not understanding the code, it’s that they aren’t explaining themselves properly.

Hope this helps
