where can i learn how to java script in a browser window, finished basic tutorial on you tube by thenewboston?

i’ve gone through the tutorial by thenewboston on youtube.com and now i want to learn how to use it in a browser. i few sites show you how to enter it into a browser as in javascript:(code) but i want to learn how to use the information on a page to do other things then its intended use.
