Getting into the voiceover industry
If you want to get into the voiceover industry then you need to create a decent demo tape. In the voice over world, your demo tape is your multimedia resume. You need to think of how you can use your voice to meet the needs of a potential client. However, you don’t know who your potential voiceover client will be.
So consider all the different types of commercial voiceover work that exists - telephone work, radio jingles, documentaries, online sales, sales pitches for radio adverts, television narration, etc and create an example of your voice that will meet those tasks.
Then consider how you can use your voice in different ways. If you are good at different accents - British, American, Australian, etc then use those in your demo tape. Also, work out if you have a single style or whether you can vary your style according to age or liveliness.
Then you need to start approaching the different voice over agencies for work
Best of luck!!
