you have to be over …
you have to be over 11 because then the bones will have hardened and are able to hold your weight, if you start too young you can actually shorten your dance carrer and have life long problems. just because someone starts early on pointe doesnt mean they will be better/stronger on pointe…

It is when your …
It is when your feet stop growing and when you have mastered the basics well that you can go en pointe. I have known people that went up when they were eleven, but that was because they started as young as two or three and had a while to develop their grace and creative movement, and STRENGTH.

hey, this may sound like a really silly question- but i can’t find the answer anywhere! - I’m starting ballet again now at 18, I did it for one year as a child but my leotard was a bigger size then, so now it fits me but how do I know if my leotard fits properly or if I should buy a new one?

your never too old to start ballet!
i started when i was younger but one of my friends only started when she was 17 and now - after 2 years - shes one of the best dancers in my class and shes at one of scotlands biggest dance colleges studying around 5/6 different types of dance!
if its what you want to do - go for it!
