What type of degree do you need to teach English in China?
October 28th, 2009 | by admin |I am moving to Hong Kong and need to know the requirements to teach? I do not have my Bachelor Degree (am 30 credits away), but I have 10 years of experience working with children. I have worked as a preschool teacher and an Assistant Director and Director of a daycare. I have an Associates Degree but am wondering what type of job I could get there with my education. I have heard teaching English would be one of my options? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.
You could probably get a job there with your current qualifications. Some schools require a degree and a TEFL Certificate (these are the standard qualifications) but others will settle for less.
Certainly though I’d suggest a TEFL Certificate which, when added to your teaching experience, would be very helpful in getting work.
